Accelerating the Ouagadougou Partnership Research Agenda

The Ouagadougou Partnership’s “Beyond 2020” initiative focuses on strengthening sexual and reproductive health research capabilities across West Africa. The program, coordinated by multiple international partners including UCSD, EVIHDAF, Sambodhi, and Makerere University, aims to enhance regional research institutions’ capacity.

As part of this initiative, our firm was selected to mentor two key research institutions: ONASR (Mali) and IASP (Burkina Faso). The project encompassed comprehensive institutional support through needs assessment, strategic mentoring sessions, and progress monitoring.

The mentoring program delivered targeted support in strategic development planning, facilitated both individual and group sessions, and established networking opportunities. Regular progress reports were provided to the Agency for All team, documenting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

Through this structured approach, the program successfully strengthened these institutions’ research capabilities in sexual and reproductive health policy development.
