The National Pitch Fest A-Hub Accelerator is the culmination of the A-Hub Accelerator Program, an initiative spearheaded by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in collaboration with local partners such as INTELLIUM INCUBATOR. This program is designed to support and accelerate early-stage startups across ICESCO member states, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in various sectors.
Program Structure
The A-Hub Accelerator Program is structured into several key phases:
- Boot Camp: A two-day intensive workshop focusing on the fundamentals of starting and managing a business.
- Coaching Sessions: A series of in-depth sessions covering operations, scaling strategies, business model development, and pitch preparation.
- National Pitch Fest: A competitive event where selected startups present their ventures to a panel of judges, including investors, industry experts, and ICESCO representatives. The top three startups are chosen to represent their country in the global finals.
Objectives and Impact
The National Pitch Fest serves multiple purposes:
- Showcasing Innovation: Providing a platform for startups to demonstrate their innovative solutions to a broader audience.
- Networking Opportunities: Connecting entrepreneurs with potential investors, mentors, and industry peers.
- Global Exposure: Offering top-performing startups the chance to compete on an international stage, thereby increasing their visibility and potential for growth.
For instance, in the Nigerian edition of the program, over 90 applications were received, with 10 startups selected for the accelerator. The National Pitch Fest concluded with three startups—Tetrecycle, Vabbar, and Eridoagro—emerging as finalists to represent Nigeria in the global finals.
Similarly, the Malaysian chapter of the A-Hub Accelerator, organized by Youth Ventures Asia, OptIn Studio, and Ethis, provided six weeks of virtual mentorship and resources, culminating in the selection of a national representative to pitch at the global finals.
